The History of Brownies

1910

Girl Guides formed a year after they had ‘turned up’ at the first Boy Scout Rally at Crystal Palace in 1909.

1914

A junior section of Guides was formed for eight to 10-year-olds. They called themselves Rosebuds.

1915

The Rosebuds were renamed Brownies.

Over the years Brownies have grown as an organisation with members across the country and worldwide.
